Turns out stepper motors are a bit more complicated

Found this nice short manual about stepper motors [1] by Oriental motor [2], which is a US based company that manufactures stepper motors. Dude, I'm not cut out of this. I'm able to understand it a little, but then it starts to build hard concepts on top of hard concepts and I just get lost.

For example on page 36 there is this graph of a step response of a motor. Does the motor really do that? Does it go that much to the left and right before settling? It overshoots so much it seems like it is certainly going to skip a step.

Anyway, now I hope there is a nice YouTube video that can show me this with some graphics xD. Bitter medicine has to go down with some sugar.
